TULUM BEAUTY ROUTINE

Travel with Intention

The best way to prep for a trip is not to over prepare but rather prepare with intention. The first step is sorting out options that cater to the climate. With those curated options, I then cross reference the trip itinerary and ensure all products are pertinent to all aspects of the trip.

Skin Maintenance

When you think of Tulum the first thing that comes to mind is the clear beautiful water. I knew most of my Tulum getaway would consist of sunbathing and being in the water. Because of this, I prioritized packing products that protect skin from the tropical climate, during the trip and after. I brought three sunscreens — Supergoop! Women’s Antioxidant-Infused Sunscreen Mist with Vitamin C SPF 50as my go-to for bodySupergoop! Unseen Sunscreen SPF 40for my face and neck specifically when I wanted more of a bare fresh skin look, and my favorite Supergoop! Glow Stick SPF50which gives an all over oily glow on face and body. In addition I also packed my Malin + Goetz Mini Eucalyptus Deodorantto smell fresh at all times and Hampton Sun Travel Hydrating Aloe Continuous Mist to refresh my face throughout the day and soothe my skin from all the sun.

PRO TIP: I travel with travel size for everything I know I will use less off.

Like any other tropical beachside destination, the culture in Tulum is all about embracing natural beauty so I focused on skincare and the only makeup essentials I brought along are listed below:

Eyes

Milk Makeup KUSH High Volume Mascara

Chanel Eyeshadow-Blending Brush

Chanel Eyeshadow in a not yet released color (will link similar products below)

Lips

Chanel le Rouge Duo

Chanel Lipstick

Face

Chanel Beauty Highlight and Bronze set (not yet released)

NOTO Hydra Highlighter Stick

Beauty Rituals

I didn’t bother with shampoo since I wanted to embrace the salt in my hair and honestly knew that even the showers would probably have salt water. I used Briogeo Farewell Frizz Rosarco Milk Leave-In Conditioning Sprayto detangle and that was the only product for my hair during the trip.

ASARAI Earth Tones Face Maskunclogs pores, calms inflamed skin, and hydrates — all important details my skin needed while outside and in the sun all day.

My cleanser of choice to remove makeup and debris from the day and calm my skin was the Dermalogica UltraCalming Cleanser

For moisturizer I brought along something light but hydrating — Susanne Kaufmann – Intensive Cold Cream, 50ml – Colorlessand mixed in True Botanicals Vitamin C Booster Skin Care Serumto repair my skin and stimulate collagen production.

I kept my face oils to a minimum for this specific trip but made sure to incorporate the Guerlain Abeille Royale Youth Watery OilIts feels like a hybrid between oil and water and made my skin texture stay extra silky and soft.
